Welcome to Hiline
We exist for the underdog.
The same tools, systems, and expertise that Fortune 500 companies take for granted. We think every small business and nonprofit should have them too. That belief isn't abstract for me. It's where I come from.
Hiline was founded in Syracuse, in the heart of the Rust Belt, surrounded by thousands of small businesses fighting to make it. My father ran one of them. I grew up watching what good books, and bad ones, do to a business and the family behind it.
I've walked into offices with unfiled paperwork falling off the desks, uncashed checks sitting in drawers, ledgers left open and unreconciled for months. Not because anyone was careless. Because running the business left no time for the books. And the books quietly deciding whether that business would make it.
It doesn't have to be that way. With the right people and today's technology, there's no reason every business in the country shouldn't have clean books that tell the real story.
And that's the problem we exist to fix. Not just bookkeeping, not just tax filing, but the whole finance operation, run well enough that you can actually make decisions on it.
Most of the accounting industry is built backward. Traditional firms hand you a report once a month and call it service. Software hands you a dashboard and calls it a team. We built both into one thing: technology that keeps your numbers current and accurate, and a real team that knows your business and tells you what those numbers actually mean.
The tech keeps getting better every year. The people are what you'll remember.
Accounting is the unsung hero of growth. It's time it took its seat at the table, in every business with the courage and curiosity to look.
Welcome to Hiline.
